Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is , owner of Crypto Cited. You can contact us at hello@cryptocited.com or from the contact page. The owner's other details are in the legal notice.

What data we process and why

Reading the site

You don't need an account or to give us any personal data to read Crypto Cited. We have no comments, accounts or newsletter.

If you write to us

If you email us, directly or with the contact form (which sends nothing to our servers: it opens your email app with the message written), we process your name, email address and the content of your message, only to reply. The legal basis is your consent, given by sending the message (article 6.1.a of the General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). We keep messages for as long as needed to deal with your request and for up to one year afterwards, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Technical data when you visit

Like any website, when you visit, your browser sends technical data (IP address, browser type, page requested, date and time). Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes it to serve the pages, protect them against attacks and give us aggregated traffic statistics that don't identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and working (article 6.1.f GDPR).

Visit statistics

To count visits and see which pages are read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, and it doesn't identify you or build a profile: a small script sends Cloudflare details of the visit (page, referring site, device and browser type, country and load times), which we only see in aggregate. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used in order to improve it (article 6.1.f GDPR). We don't use Google Analytics.

Google advertising

The website will be funded by Google AdSense ads. Once they are switched on:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ad Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • In the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland, advertising cookies are used only with your consent, which we ask for through Google's certified consent message: you can accept, reject or choose purposes, and change your choice at any time. The legal basis is your consent (article 6.1.a GDPR / UK GDPR).
  • In US states with consumer privacy laws, you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for targeted advertising using the privacy message Google shows where those laws apply.

Who else receives data

We don't sell your data. Only these parties access it, as far as needed to provide their services:

  • Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts the website, produces the visit statistics and forwards the emails you send us (data processor).
  • Google, whose email service (Gmail) receives those messages, and, once ads are on, as an advertising provider, subject to your choices described above.
  • Public authorities, judges or courts, only where the law requires it.

International transfers

Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States. Transfers of data to the US rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, which both companies have joined, and on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to hello@cryptocited.com saying which right you want to exercise. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under your local law (for example, the UK GDPR, US state privacy laws or Canada's privacy laws); we will respond to those requests in the same way.

If you think we haven't handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or to the data protection authority where you live, such as the UK's Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

This website is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly process their data.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the way we process data changes, for example when ads are switched on. The date of the last update is shown at the top.
